Let's be transported away...

Ciao a tutti! Ecco a voi il progetto che ho preparato per le sfide del Lunedì  (TRANSPORT IT) e del Mercoledì  (ANYTHING GOES) di SIMON SAYS STAMP...
Ho deciso di fare una Tag (si vede che mi mancano le 12 Tags di Tim Holtz?) puntando decisamente sullo Steampunk...ormai lo avete capito che adoro questo stile, giusto?

Hello everyone! Here's my new project  for SIMON SAYS STAMP Challenges...

Monday (TRANSPORT IT) and Wednesday  (ANYTHING GOES ).
I decided for a Tag (yes I do miss Tim Holtz 12 Tags!) and go for a Steampunk look ...by now you all know I LOVE this style...right?

Ho utilizzato una carta patterned dal set 'Chronology' di Docrafts, che ho incollato a del cartoncino con gel medium. Ho steso del gesso bianco, ho incollato un pezzo di Tissue Wrap - Postale di Tim Holtz poi ho aggiunto della modeling paste usando 2 stencils sempre di Tim Holtz - Gears e Industrial.
Ho colorato la base con Distress Stains - Antiqued Bronze, Tarnished Brass e Brushed Pewter, spruzzato con acqua, asciugato e aggiunto qualche timbrata 'finto cracklé'. Poi ho ripassato sia i bordi che la tag con i Distress Inks - Hickory Smoke, Ground Espresso e Black Soot...a questo punto il panico....mi piace talmente tanto questo background che mi spiace coprirlo!!! Lol! 

I have used a patterned paper from the set 'Chronology' by Docrafts, glued it to a cardstock with gel medium, for more sturdiness. One coat of white gesso and added a piece of Tissue Wrap - Postale by Tim Holtz...added Modeling Paste  for more texture using 2 Layering Stencils by Tim Holtz - Gears and Industrial.

I colored the Tag using Distress Stains - Antiqued Bronze, Tarnished Brass e Brushed Pewter, sprayed with water, dried and added a 'Crackle' stamp here and there. Used Distress Inks - Hickory Smoke, Ground Espresso e Black Soot on borders and on the Tag ...and this is the akward moment when I realised that I loved so much the background that I didn't want to cover it up!!!Lol!

Ho deciso di utilizzare un'immagine digitale dal digikit  'Age of Steam' di DaisyTrail  e di colorarla con Distress Markers, Tombow dual brush pens e pastelli Polychromos.
Poi ho aggiunto degli ingranaggi ritagliati con delle fustelle ed invecchiati  e una scritta realizzata con la Dymo.
Ho rifinito con qualche embellishment e voilà...siamo pronti per il Viaggio!

I decided to use a digital image from 'Age of Steam' digikit by DaisyTrail and to color it with Distress Markers, Tombow dual brush pens and Faber-Castell Polychromos. Added few die-cut gears, aged and 'rusty', and a sentiment made with my Dymo. Final touches with few embellishments and voilà...we are ready for the Journey!

Floral Tag using my Favorite tools...Simon Says Stamp Challenges!

Hello everyone! Here I am with a new post and 2 new Simon Says Stamp Challenges!

Dal momento che la sfida del Lunedì chiedeva di usare il nostro attrezzo preferito, mentre quella del Mercoledì voleva dei fiori...le ho unite entrambe in questo...assembramento di Tags...

As the Monday Challenge asked to use our favorite tool, while the Wednesday one wanted some flowers...I decided to bring them together with this...cluster of Tags...

Per questo progetto ho usato I miei attrezzi preferiti:
- il mio nuovo Gelli Plate
- la mia Big Shot per fustellare le mie fustelle preferite: Tags e
  'Handwritten  words' di Tim Holtz
- il mio pennello a serbatoio con cui sfumo tutti i miei Distress Crayons e Distress Markers  e con cui ho colorato i fiori
- il mio Ink Tool ed il Distress Ink Black Soot, dei quali non posso fare senza
- le mie etichettatrici (sia quella professionale della 3M che quella Junior della Dymo)

Per i fiori ho usato i timbri di Tim Holtz che erano nel 'Tim Holtz Distress Crayon Watercolor Kit' comprato qualche tempo fa, proprio da Simon Says Stamp.

For this project I have used my favorite TOOLS:
- my new Gelli Plate
- my beloved Big Shot die-cutting machine and my favorite dies: Tags and 'Handwritten' words both by Tim Holtz
- my water brush that I always use to coloring with Distress Crayons and Distress Markers, and I have used here for the flowers
- my Ink tool and Distress Ink Black Soot, that I love so much
- my label-makers (both professional by 3M and the Junior one by Dymo)

For the flowers I have used the stamps included in the 'Tim Holtz Distress Crayon Watercolor Kit' that I have purchased  from Simon Says Stamp some time ago.

Sono partita da qui...un foglio A4 di cartoncino bianco per stampante, che ho usato per pulire il mio rullo tra una stampa e l'altra con il Gelli Plate...

I started from here...an A4 white cardstock sheet for printer, that I have used to clean my brayer while 'pulling prints' with my Gelli Plate...

Mi piacevano così tanto i colori che ho semplicemente tagliato delle Tags con le Fustelle, distressati i bordi ed incollate tra loro. Su del cartoncino pesante per acquerello ho timbrato i fiori, li ho colorati usando sia i Distress Markers che i Distress Crayons con il pennello a serbatoio e poi li ho ritagliati, ed incollati con biadesivo spessorato, ho timbrato anche gli steli direttamente sulla Tag più grossa, poi ho incollato le scritte...ecco qualche dettaglio in più!

I loved these colors so much that I have used the paper to die cut few Tags, I distressed the borders with the ink and simply glued them together. I stamped the flowers onto heavy watercolor cardstock and colored them using Distress Markers and Distress Crayons with the water brush, then fussy cut them and attached with foam tape. I also stamped the stems on the bigger Tag and glued down the sentiments...here's few details!

Sto seguendo la sfida delle 52 cards sulla pagina Facebook MaremiCreativeCafe (#52CafeCards challenge ) e siamo arrivati alla settimana n.7. Il tema per questa card è la lettera G come GEAR...quindi ecco la mia card 7/52...

I'm following the #52CafeCards challenge over at MaremiCreativeCafe Facebook page and here we are at week n.7 . The new theme is G is for GEAR...so here's my new 7/52 card...

Ecco qualche dettaglio...Per il background della card ho usato prima il Gesso bianco, poi ho steso della Modeling Paste con il Layering Stencil 'Gears' di Tim Holtz e una volta asciutto ho iniziato a spruzzare gli Starburst della Lindy's Stamp Gang 'Black Orchid Silver' e 'Screamin' Banshee Black', diluito con acqua, asciugato e spruzzato i Moon Shadow Mists 'Long Jouhn's Silver' e 'Phantom Fuchsia'

Per il cuore ho usato il Magical 'Cowabunga Copper' sempre di Lindy's. Ho invecchiato e 'arrugginito' le fustellate degli ingranaggi ed ho assemblato il tutto.

Here's few details...For the background, first of all I have Gessoed the card, then used Modeling Paste with Tim Holtz' Layering Stencil 'Gears'. When dry I sprayed first with Lindy's Stamp Gang Starburst 'Black Orchid Silver' and 'Screamin' Banshee Black' added water and dried. Then used Lindy's Moon Shadow Mists 'Long John's Silver' and 'Phantom Fuchsia'. Covered the heart with Lindy's Magical 'Cowabunga Copper', aged and rusted the gears die-cuts and attached them to the card.

Con questa foto in pieno sole si può notare l'effetto della polvere Magical sul cuore e la texture degli ingranaggi.

With this picture taken in full sun light, you can see the 'shiny' effect on the heart and the texture of the gears.

STAY GOLD...Finnabair Designers' Faves Challenge.

Ciao a tutti! Oggi vi parlo di una nuova pagina di Art Journal...e di una nuova sfida, la 'Designers' faves challenge' iniziata da Finnabair ed il suo Creative Team... il primo tema è 'Go for the Gold' scelto da Marta, quindi obbligatorio usare il colore oro...ecco a me è tornato in mente un film visto tanti anni fa, cioè 'I RAGAZZI DELLA 56° STRADA' di Francis Ford Coppola. Nella colonna sonora c'era una canzone cantata da Stevie Wonder, 'Stay Gold' appunto e dal protagonista, Ponyboy, veniva declamata una bellissima poesia di Robert Frost, 'Nothing Gold can stay' - 'Niente che sia d'oro resta'..

Hello everyone! Let's talk about a new page in my Art Journal...and a new challenge, the 'Designers' faves challenge' started by Finnabair and her Creative Team... the first theme is 'Go for the Gold', chosen by Marta, hence you have to use gold somehow...and this recalled to my mind a movie of quite few years ago, 'THE OUTSIDERS' by Francis Ford Coppola. In the Soundtrack score there was a song called 'Stay Gold' by Stevie Wonder and the main character, Ponyboy recites a poem by Robert Frost, called 'Nothing Gold can stay'...

Nature's first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf's a flower,
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So Dawn goes down to Day.
Nothing Gold can stay.

A poem for the fading innocence, but in the same time a call to stay pure, not to loose our inner child,,,STAY GOLD.

(Traduzione - come recitata nel film)
In Natura il primo verde è dorato,
e subito svanisce.
Il primo germoglio è un fiore
che dura solo un'ora.
Poi a foglia segue foglia,
Come l'Eden affondò nel dolore
Così oggi affonda l'aurora.
Niente che sia d'oro resta.

Un canto all'innocenza che svanisce, ma nello stesso tempo un'incitamento a restare puri, a non perdere il bambino che è in noi...restare d'oro...STAY GOLD.

Qui sotto trovate le foto dei vari step...dopo aver trovato una composizione che mi piacesse, ho incollato tutto con Gel Medium; poi ho ricoperto tutto con Gesso Bianco ed ho iniziato a spruzzare il colore...per smorzare un po' i toni ho spruzzato del colore bianco ed ho aggiunto alcuni tocchi con il Gesso bianco. Ho aggiunto un po' di luce con il colore acrilico oro, poi ho poi fatto cadere delle gocce di 2 diversi tipi di oro metallizzato, delle gocce di acrilico bianco,  ripassato i contorni ed incollato la cornice. Per l'immagine ho utilizzato un timbro in legno di Finnabair, dipinto usando i Distress Markers e poi spruzzato con uno spray 'handmade' fatto con porporina oro.

Here below you can see few steps...first I tried to find a suitable composition, then glued everything using Gel Medium. Afterwards covered with White Gesso and started using sprays; to tone  the colour down a bit I have sprayed some White and added few touches with White Gesso. With gold acrylic I have highlighted here and there, then spattered with 2 different metallic gold acrylics and some white, added shadows and attached the frame. I have stamped the butterfly using a wooden stamp by Finnabair,  colored with Distress Markers and then sprayed with a 'homemade' mist made with gold mica powder.

SanDee & amelie's Steampunk February Challenge...Take one!

Hello everyone! Today I'm gonna post just few words to enter SanDee & amelie's Steampunk Challenge for the month of February...
As 'one of a kind' occasion, we are allowed to show a project we made during the month of January using our New Stash/Forgotten Stash (this is the theme of the month)..
Well then here it is my 'gynormous' Tag made using:
- Black  cardstock/ Steampunk designer pape and a postage stamp from my forgotten stash
- Carabelle Studio stencil, Decorating paste, Distress ink pads and gears die cuts (well not really  
  forgotten, but old stash)
- Background Stamp ' Gustave' by Kesi'art' - New Stash
- Tour Eiffel die by Marianne design - Craftables - New Stash
- Dylusions paints : Black Marble and Calypso Teal - New Stash

Life is a Journey...

E' proprio vero...la vita è un viaggio...non importa tanto la destinazione, quanto il percorso che noi facciamo...Complice la brutta giornata, fredda ed uggiosa, oggi mi sono dedicata un po' a me stessa con una pagina del mio Art Journal ed i miei nuovi timbri della Visible Image!
Ebbene sì...c'è anche il video, se vi va di dare un'occhiata...

That's so true, isn't it? Life is truly a Journey...in the end it doesn't matter the destination, but the paths we have taken...so today, since the weather was so ugly,  I took some time for myself having fun with my  Art Journal...and my new Visible Image stamps!
