It's Steampunk Christmas Time!

Ciao a tutti! Eccoci a poche ore dal giorno di Natale...e quale migliore occasione per creare un addobbo in stile Steampunk per partecipare alla sfida di Dicembre di SanDee & amelie's Steampunk Challenges Blog?  Quindi mi sono sbizzarrita con ingranaggi, effetto ruggine, avanzi di altri lavori e quant'altro ed ecco il risultato...

Hello everyone! Here we are..just few hours from Christmas day...and I couldn't find a better moment to create a Steampunk ornament to submit for the December Challenge over at SanDee & amelie's Steampunk Challenges Blog. So I just had fun with gears, cogs, rust effects, leftovers from other projects and so on, and here is the result...

E' tutto...non mi resta che salutarvi ed augurare a tutti voi un FELICE NATALE...ci vediamo qui il prossimo anno!!!

Swap 'Bianco Natale'

Ciao a tutti, eccomi su queste pagine di nuovo al volo...questa influenza che mi tormenta non se ne vuole andare...
Comunque giusto 2 righe per farvi vedere il risultato dello Swap organizzato da Marta Anzolla...posto le foto solo adesso perchè ho ricevuto le cartoline solo ieri...troppa nebbia per il postino!!!

Hello everyone, here I am with just few words...this awful flu doesn't want to let me go...
Anyway I want to show you the 'result' of this Swap of Mail Art set up by Marta Anzolla...I'm posting only now because I have received my post-cards only yesterday...maybe too much fog for our postman!!!

Queste sono le cartoline che ho preparato io...più carta che tessuto, diciamo che il cucito non è proprio la mia passione...

These are the post-card that I have sent...made more of paper than fabric, let's just say that sewing is not my passion...

Questi capolavori invece sono quelli che ho ricevuto...bellissimi...quella con l'alberello di bottoni è stata fatta da Vittoria, una bambina di 7 anni...Bravissima!

These little masterpieces are the ones that I have received...they are beautiful...note that the one with the tree of buttons has been made by Vittoria, an amazing 7 years old little girl...Awesome!

Bene, questo è tutto per oggi...non vedo l'ora di rimettermi a pasticciare un po'...alla prossima!

November Steampunk Challenges...

Ciao a tutti....solo un piccolo post per ringraziare tutti al Sandee & amelie's Steampunk Challenges blog  per aver scelto anche  il mio progetto 'Steampunk Christmas' tra i vincitori della sfida di Novembre...ne sono molto felice!!!

Hello everyone...just few words to thank everyone at Sandee & amelie's Steampunk Challenges blog for choosing my 'Steampunk Christmas' project amongst the winners of the November's Challenge.....I'm beyond happy!!!

A Christmas Gift Inspired by Ice...

Ciao a tutti! Eccomi alle prese con le due nuove sfide nei Blog di SIMON SAYS STAMP...
Si sa, Natale vuol dire, oltre alle cose più importanti, anche regali...magari Handmade! Per me non c'è niente di più bello del sapere che una persona mi ha dedicato tempo, passione ed un pezzetto di cuore donandomi una sua creazione...questo perlomeno è  quello che spero pensino anche  i destinatari dei miei doni...
E questo ci porta al progetto di oggi...ho deciso infatti di decorare una goccia di vetro satinato che avevo in casa da un po'...
Ho incollato del 'baker's twine' bianco e rosso con qualche punto di colla a caldo, ho aggiunto un nastro decorato in tessuto e poi delle fustellate in feltro e cartoncino, utilizzando le fustelle 'Garden Greens' e 'Tattered Poinsettia' di Tim Holtz. Infine ho aggiunto delle brads in metallo a forma di fiocco di neve. Tutto qua...piuttosto semplice...niente Steampunk oggi!

Hello everyone! Here I am embracing the new challenges in SIMON SAYS STAMP Blogs...
We all know, Christmas means, among other more important things, gifts and presents...maybe Handmade! To me there is nothing more precious than a handmade creation...knowing that someone dedicated time, passion and a tiny piece of his/hers heart to me ...and hopefully this is what the recipients of my gifts will think...
And this takes us to my project...I have decided to decorate a frosted glass ornament I had in my stash for quite some time...
I have glued some 'baker's twine' with hot glue, then added a printed ribbon and few felt die-cuts made using Tim Holtz 'Garden Greens' and 'Tattered Poinsettia' dies.
Eventually I added a couple of metal snowflakes brads. That's it...pretty simple...no Steampunk today!

12 Tags of 2016 - Technique Remix - December...

Ciao a tutti! E' incredibile che sia già Dicembre...un intero anno di Tags!!! E' stato un bellissimo viaggio, e devo ringraziare tantissimo Tim Holtz per aver condiviso con noi le sue idee e le sue tecniche...quella della 'Technique Remix' è stata davvero geniale!!!
In questo arco di tempo ho imparato a mettermi in gioco...provare tecniche nuove...cercare di arrivare ad un risultato soddisfacente senza avere tutti i materiali elencati...è stata dura, è stato intenso, è stato fantastico!

Hello everyone! It's quite incredible that it's December already...a whole year long of Tags!!! It has been an amazing journey, and must thank Tim Holtz so much for sharing with us his ideas and techniques...I must say that the 'Technique Remix' has been a brilliant idea, just genius!!!
During this year I have learnt to challenge myself...experimenting new techniques...trying to achieve a good result without all the materials listed...has been tough, has been intense, has been fantastic!

Quindi, senza ulteriori indugi ecco la mia versione della Tag di Dicembre della serie 12 Tags of 2016 - Technique Remix:

So, without further ado, here's my take on the 12 Tags of 2016 - Technique Remix - December:

Seguendo i tutorial di Tim ho decorato il background della Tag utilizzando lo Stencil Flourish, ho aggiunto un'occhiello con la Crop-a-dile ed ho fatto una cucitura tutto intorno...

Following Tim's tutorials I have decorated the background with the Flourish  'Layering Stencil', then added an eyelet with my Crop-a-dile and hand-stiched all around...

Dopodichè ho iniziato a pensare agli abbellimenti...ho preparato dei mini collage utilizzando il blocco di carte 12x12'' 'Destinations' , sempre di Tim Holtz...nel tappo ho incollato il '25', poi ho coperto il tutto con vernice cracklè ed una volta asciutto ho dato risalto alle crepe utilizzando i Distress Crayons, Walnut Stain intorno al bordo e Picket Fence nel mezzo.
Ho voluto dare un tocco Steampunk (ovviamente...Lol!) aggiungendo una lampadina, dei mini ingranaggi di metallo ed una mini chiave 'arrugginita' - facciamo finta che sia la 'chiave di Babbo Natale' che ne dite?- Anche per le campanelle ho voluto aggiungerne una 'rusty'!
Ed ora il pezzo forte...la scritta 'MERRY'. Neanche a dirlo, ovviamente non ho la Shadow-Press Station che Tim ha usato, quindi cercando di fare di necessità virtù, ho utilizzato le lettere ritagliate con le fustelle 'Thinlits - Alphanumeric'  di Tim Holtz per creare un effetto 'debossing' sul cartoncino a righe (blocco 12x12'' 'French Industrial') e poi con una penna per embossing ho creato l'ombra ed embossata con la polvere oro. Quasi uguale...ehm...(scusa Tim!)

Afterwards I started assembling the embellishments...I have prepared mini collages using Tim's 'Destinations' 12x12'' paper pad,,,in the bottle cap I have glued the '25', covered it with crackle  glaze and when dry I enhanced the cracks using Distress Crayons - Walnut Stain on the outside and Picket Fence in the middle.
I wanted to add a Steampunk touch (of course...Lol!) with a small lightbulb, mini metal gears and a rusty mini key - let's pretend it's 'Santa's key', shall we? - I also added a small rusty bell between the golden ones!
And now it's time for the main piece...the word 'MERRY'. It's quite useless to say that I do not have the Shadow-Press Station that Tim used in his Tag, so I have thought of the best way to achieve the same result...sort of...! I have used the die-cut letters from Tim Holtz 'Alphanumeric' Thinlits on a piece of cardstock from Tim's 12x12'' paper pad 'French Industrial' to re-create a 'debossed' effect and then with an embossing pen and embossing gold powder I have created the shadow. Almost the same...ehm...(Sorry Tim!)

E siamo arrivati anche alla fine di quest'ultima Tag...è stata una bella avventura...chissà cosa preparerà Tim per il prossimo anno??? Io non vedo l'ora...e voi?

So here we are, at the end of this last Tag...has been a great adventure...I wonder what Tim will come up with the next year? I really can't wait...what about you?
