SIMON SAYS...CHALLENGE !

Ciao, bentornati! Oggi il tempo è proprio da giornata autunnale...nebbiolina, aria frizzantina...beh del resto questo è l'Autunno...ed io lo amo a prescindere!

Era ovvio quindi che mi ispirassi ai suoi colori anche per la nuova sfida del Lunedì di Simon Says Stamp...'POWDER POWER' (il potere della polvere...forse dovrei solo postare una foto della mia sala, Ha!)

E allora giù di polvere da embossing, di pigmenti in polvere e chi più ne ha più ne metta...e questo è il risultato...

Hello, welcome back! This morning I woke up to a typical autumn day...little bit foggy, crispy air...well that's Fall, after all...and I love it no matter what!

So, when it came to the new Monday Challenge over at Simon Says Stamp Blog, I let myself being inspired by all its colors...the new theme is 'POWDER POWER' (...maybe I should just post a photo of my living room, Ha!)

Anyhow, got myself into embossing powders, metallic pigments, watercolor powders...and this is what I made...

Ho iniziato con un comunissimo cartoncino da stampante, l'ho timbrato con inchiostro nero della Hero Arts, che è waterproof, ed ho usato il timbro 'Jumbo Leaves' di Stampendous.

Poi ho iniziato a spargere sul foglio in modo casuale i Rainbow color duo della 13Arts. Questi sono pigmenti in polvere che reagiscono a contatto con l'acqua e creano bellissimi quanto imprevedibili effetti! Poi ho spruzzato con acqua ed ho cominciato a far scivolare un colore nell'altro. Il foglio si è imbevuto tantissimo ed è diventato quasi traslucido! Ho asciugato con l'embosser e messo da parte.

La zucca l'ho ritagliata con la fustella 'Pumpkin Jack' di Tim Holtz ed un rettangolo riposizionabile della serie Movers & Shapers ed ho usato un foglio che avevo spruzzato con vari spray acrilici 'homemade' ed alcool. L'ho poi ripassata con i Distress Ink mini pads 'Spiced Marmelade – Vintage Photo – Walnut Stain – Black Soot'.

Anche le foglie sono ritagliate con una fustella di Tim Holtz 'Tattered Leaves', usando pagine di libro. Ho aggiunto poi della missione ad acqua e cosparso con pigmenti metallici color rame.

La tag invece l'ho embossata con polvere da embossing color oro ed il timbro 'Jumbo Leaves' e poi distressata con 'Vintage Photo – Walnut Stain e Black Soot'

Per la scritta ho usato l'alfabeto 'Vintage Uppercase' sempre di Stampendous.

Ho poi assemblato il tutto con del nastro biadesivo ed aggiunto qualche cordoncino ed un paio di 'rusty bells'!

I started with a common heavyweight sheet of paper for inkjet, stamped with Hero Arts Black archival ink, using Stampendous 'Jumbo Leaves' stamp.

Then I poured on the page watercolor powders...I love these powders as they react with water to create beautiful and totally unpredictable effects! I spritzed with water and let the colors mix together...the paper was so wet that became quite translucent! I used the embosser to dry it and put that aside. 

I die cut the pumpkin with Tim Holtz 'Pumpkin Jack' die and a Movers & Shapers repositionable sized rectangle, to create a window, using a cardstock previously painted with 'homemade' acrylic sprays spritzed with alcohol. Then I enhanced the color with Distress Ink mini pads 'Spiced Marmelade – Vintage Photo – Walnut Stain – Black Soot'

Using Tim Holtz 'Tattered Leaves' die and an old book pages I got myself few leaves to paint...on these ones I just rubbed a little of water based mission (for gold foil) covered with copper metallic pigment. On the Tag I have used gold embossing powder and the 'Jumbo Leaves' stamp, and then Distress inks 'Vintage Photo – Walnut Stain – Black Soot'

I stamped the word 'Fall' using Stampendous 'Vintage Uppercase' stamp.

Finally I just put everything together using a lot of foam tape and added a couple of rusty bells!

Believe in your DREAMS...

Ciao a tutti! Tanto per cambiare ieri mi sono dedicata ad una pagina del mio Art Journal...è bello ogni tanto sporcarsi le mani (e vi assicuro che lo erano davvero! Lol!) solo per il gusto di creare un po' per se stessi!!!

Hello everyone! Yesterday I have  decorated a page of my Art Journal...it is nice to get your hand dirty (and trust me, they really were! Lol!) just for the sake of creating something for yourselves!!!

Mi sono divertita ad usare i pigmenti in polvere Rainbow Color Duo della 13Arts, sia per lo sfondo che per lo stencil, sempre della 13Arts...la bellezza di questi colori è che una volta attivati con acqua, oltre al colore di base hanno al loro interno anche altri colori di contrasto e questo crea dei bellissimi effetti!
Per colorare la piuma ho usato i miei adorati Tombow Dual Brush, ed i Distress Ink pads Peacock Feathers (che è il mio colore preferito!) e Black Soot,
La scritta fa parte di un set della MP,
E poi tanta Modeling Paste, sia sulla pagina che sulla Tag.

I had so much fun using Rainbow Color Duo powder pigments by 13Arts, both for the background and the stencil, also from 13Arts...the beauty of these colors is that once you activate them with water they bloom to life and with the base color they also have other contrasting colors as well and this creates beautiful effects!
For the feather I have used my beloved Tombow Dual Brush pens and Distress Ink pads Peacock Feathers (which is my fav color!) and Black Soot.
The sentiment is part of a stamp set by MP.
And then a lot of Modeling Paste, both on the page and the Tag.

12 Tags of 2016 - September...

Eccomi....in ritardo come al solito, ma anche questo mese sono riuscita a mettere mano alla Tag di Tim! Quindi senza ulteriori indugi ecco a voi la mia versione della Tag di Settembre per la serie: '12 Tags of 2016' di Tim Holtz!

Here I am..late as ever, but I managed to dip myself into Tim's Tag! So without further ado, here's to you my take on the '12 Tags of 2016' by Tim Holtz for the month of September!

Fare questa Tag mi ha messo di fronte a delle belle sfide, ma sono molto soddisfatta del risultato!

Ho seguito i vari step indicati nel tutorial di Tim e quando sono arrivata al background della Tag, a dir la verità non ero molto convinta dell'effetto patina marmorizzato, fino a che non ho asciugato tutto...devo dire però che l'effetto sulle mie mani è stato molto convincente!!!

The making of this Tag has been really challenging, but I'm pretty satisfied with the outcome!

I have followed all the steps Tim has explained in his tutorial until the background...to tell the truth I couldn't see the 'patina' effect on the Tag untill I dried it...sure my fingers and hands were amazingly marbled!!!

Non potevo non aggiungere qualche tocco di 'ruggine' Steampunk...ecco qualche dettaglio...

Of course I had to add few Steampunk 'rusty' touches...here's the details...

E' tutto...Pronta per la prossima Tag...!

Simon Says Stamp Challenge...Let's be Inspired by MUSIC !

Ciao! Eccomi alle prese con la nuova sfida del Lunedì di SIMON SAYS STAMP...il nuovo tema della settimana è 'INSPIRED BY MUSIC' e, pensandoci un pò su...prima di andare a dormire (non scherzo...Lol!) la mia Musa mi ha dato l'ispirazione per questa Tag...!

Hello! Here we are with a new Monday Challenge over at SIMON SAYS STAMP blog...the new weekly theme is 'INSPIRED BY MUSIC' and thinking about that...just before going to sleep (I'm not kidding...Lol!) my Muse inspired me with this Tag...!

Non c'è bisogno che spieghi le motivazioni dietro a questa scelta...non è vero?

I reckon no explanation needed for this choice...don't you think?

La cosa più complicata è stata sicuramente la scritta 'Peace'...all'inizio avevo intenzione di metterla al centro della fustellata del 'Vintage Globe', ma mi sono resa conto che il mondo era troppo piccolo...che ironia...

Allora ho deciso di tenere i Continenti e buttare il resto e ripartire da lì...

The most complicated thing has been how to place the word 'Peace'...at first I wanted to put it right in the middle of the 'Globe' die cut, but I realized that the world was too small...how ironic...

So I just cut the Continents out, got rid of the rest and started from there...

Per lo sfondo ho steso il Distress Ink Stormy Sky sul piano, ho spruzzato con acqua, raccolto con un rullo e passato sulla Tag. Stessa cosa con Walnut Stain. Ho lasciato cadere delle gocce d'acqua ed asciugato. Ho steso della Modeling Paste con lo stencil, asciugato e passato sopra ai raggi con Peacock Feathers, Vintage Photo ed invecchiato i bordi prima con Vintage Photo, poi con Walnut Stain e poi con Black Soot.
Per lo sfondo della parola 'Peace', ho usato in mezzo Peacock Feathers e sui bordi Salty Ocean, poi ho spruzzato con acqua ed asciugato.
Per i Continenti ho iniziato prima con Stormy Sky, poi Mowed Lawn ed infine sui bordi Vintage Photo.

For the background I tapped Distress Ink pad Stormy Sky on my mat, misted with water, and with a brayer I colored the Tag. The same thing using Walnut Stain, then I flicked few water drops and dried. Used some Modeling Paste with the Stencil, dried and then added few touches of Peacock Feathers and Vintage Photo on the rays, then used Vintage Photo, Walnut Stain and Black Soot on the borders of the Tag.
For the word 'Peace' background I used Peacock Feathers in the center and Salty Ocean on the outside, spritzed with water and dried.
For the Continents started first with Stormy Sky, then Mowed Lawn and finally Vintage Photo.

Dare 2 Create with Tracy and Andy - 3 Color Challenge...

Ciao a tutti, eccomi di nuovo qui per farvi vedere il progetto presentato per la sfida 'Dare 2 Create - 3 color challenge' pensata da Andy Skinner e Tracy Weinzapfel .
Anche in questo caso ho decorato una pagina del mio Art Journal, ma il soggetto è decisamente fuori dalla mia 'comfort-zone'...

Hello everyone, here I am to show you my project for the 'Dare 2 Create - 3 color challenge' by Andy Skinner and Tracy Weinzapfel .
Also for this one I have decorated a page of my Art Journal, but the subject is definitely out of my 'comfort-zone'...

Ebbene si...un fiore!
That's right...a flower!

Non avendo i colori della serie DecoArt Media, ho usato i miei fidati acrilici della linea Americana, sempre DecoArt, ho sigillato la pagina con Patio Paint Primer, ho usato parecchia Decorating Paste ed anche della Texture Paste per fare il centro del fiore.
I colori usati sono Lamp Black, Titanium White e Royal Fuchsia.

As I haven't been able to try Media Fluid acrylics by DecoArt yet, I have used my trusted Americana acrylics, always DecoArt, I have sealed the page with Patio Paint Primer, used a lot of Decorating Paste and Texture Paste for the center of the flower.
The colors I have used are Lamp Black, Titanium White and Royal Fuchsia.

Nonostante i fiori non siano i miei soggetti preferiti, mi sono divertita a creare questa pagina...spero che vi piaccia!

Despite the fact that flowers are by no means my favorite sujbect I really enjoyed  creating this page...hope you like it!

SSS Monday Challenge...AT THE MOVIES!

Ciao a tutti! Io non so voi ma qui il tempo non basta mai ed il mese di Settembre ha messo il turbo!
Nonostante le mille mila cose da fare, ed il forte ritardo, non potevo farmi scappare la consueta sfida del lunedì di SIMON SAYS STAMP! Il nuovo tema è 'AT THE MOVIES' e vuoi le lancette che corrono, vuoi il mio amore smodato per lo Steampunk, mi è venuto in mente il film 'THE TIME MACHINE' (che sarebbe pure utile eh?) ed ecco a voi il risultato...

Hi everyone! This month of September is constantly in a Fast-Forward mode, and I have never enough time! That being said, despite the fact I'm awfully late, I couldn't stop myself from joining the new Monday Challenge over at SIMON SAYS STAMP Blog! 
The new theme is 'AT THE MOVIES' and because of me, running out of time and my obsession with Steampunk, I just thought about the movie  'THE TIME MACHINE' (which could be really useful, don't you think?), so here's to you the results...

Di recente ho visto le demo di Andy Skinner su Hochanda, e le sue tecniche per l'effetto ruggine mi sono piaciute moltissimo! Ovviamente non ho nessun colore che lui ha usato, ettepareva...
Però uso comunque i colori della DecoArt, versione 'Americana', allora ho provato ad usarne qualcuno molto diluito ed il risultato mi è piaciuto talmente tanto che ho cominciato ad 'arrugginire' qualsiasi cosa mi venisse a tiro...Lol!
Ed ho usato finalmente la fustella 'Weathered Clock' di Tim Holtz, che era ancora da aprire...
Per il resto, stencil e Decorating Paste, timbrate e carte della collezione 'Chronology'
Mi sono divertita immensamente a creare questa pagina e ne sono molto soddisfatta...posso finalmente dire di aver tirato fuori la mia parte Steampunk!
Qui sotto potete vedere qualche particolare, compreso lo sfondo prima di tutti gli abbellimenti.

Recently I have seen Andy Skinner's demos on Hochanda, and loved his techniques of 'rusting'!
Obviously I do not have any of the products used...duh...But...I paint with DecoArt Americana acrylics so I have tried them, largely thinned with water and I was so pleased with the results that I started rusting away everything I could...Lol!
And got to finally use my 'Weathered Clock' Die by Tim Holtz, which was still in its case...
I also used stencils, Decorating Paste, stamps and bits from 'Chronology' paper collection.
I had so much fun creating this page and I am very proud of it...
I dare say I have finally let my Steampunk-self out!

Monday Challenge...STAMP IT !

Ed eccoci di nuovo con una nuova sfida del Lunedì...grazie SIMON SAYS STAMP!
Il nuovo tema è 'STAMP IT' però non ho nessuna release di Simon Says Stamp...ancora...quindi ho utilizzato dei timbri di 'Stampendous': delle bellissime foglie ed il mio alfabeto preferito...
E questo è il risultato...

Here we are with a new Monday Challenge...thank you SIMON SAYS STAMP!
The new theme is 'STAMP IT' but I don't have any of the beautiful Simon Says Stamp's release...yet...so I have decided to use 'Stampendous' stamps: some beautiful leaves and my fav alphas. Check it out...

Mi sono dedicata ancora una volta al mio Art Journal, con una pagina dedicata all'autunno...che ci volete fare...è la mia stagione preferita!

I dedicated myself , once againt,  to my Art Journal creating a page about The Fall...what can I say...it's my favorite Season!

Ho iniziato stendendo del Gesso bianco in modo poco uniforme per dare più movimento e ho stampato ed embossato le 2 immagini. Poi con del gesso molto liquido ho timbrato varie volte le foglie, ho asciugato ed ho steso varie tonalità di Gelatos della Faber-Castell, che ho mescolato fra loro con una salviettina umidificata. Ho asciugato di nuovo ed ho iniziato a stendere dei Distress Inks che richiamassero le tinte usate in precedenza; ho spruzzato dell'acqua e poi ho asciugato.
La cosa bella di questi timbri di 'Stampendous' è che nella confezione c'è anche uno stencil e le foglie da usare come maschera: così ho mascherato le immagini timbrate, in modo che non si sporcassero nella creazione del background. Lo stencil invece l'ho usato per stendere della modeling paste e poi con il Distress Ink Black Soot ho aggiunto un'altra immagine, che poi ho colorato con dell'oro ed ho usato come 'base' per aggiungere delle fustellate con la fustella 'Tattered Leaves' di Tim Holtz.
Le due foglie embossate le ho dipinte utilizzando dei Gelatos  acquerellati.
Infine ho timbrato la scritta 'Fall', l'ho 'punchata' ed attaccata con del biadesivo spessorato.

I started this project using white thick Gesso over the page, in a slip slap motion, in order to get some texture, then I stamped and embossed the leaves. Afterwards I stamped the same images a couple of times, using very thinned gesso to make some sort of resist.
I dried and then started building up the background using  Faber-Castell Gelatos, blending them with a baby wipe; dried again and used Distress Inks trying to match the colours previously used, then spritzed with water and dried once more.
The awesome thing about these stamps is that they come with a mask and a stencil, and I have used them both: infact I have used the masks over the stamped images so they were not coloured with the background, while I used the stencil to add modeling paste and with Black Soot Distress Ink to create a sort of 'shadow image', on top of which I added some drybrushed gold and some die-cut leaves, using Tim Holtz' Tattered Leaves Die.
I painted the embossed leaves with Gelatos, used as watercolours, and, last but not least I stamped the word 'Fall', punched it out and attached to the page using foam tape.

E questo è quanto...A presto!

50 ANNI...50 YEARS...

Ciao a tutti...giusto un saluto per farvi vedere il risultato delle mie fatiche estive...

Hi everyone...I just popped by to show you what I have been up to this summer...

Questo mese è il 50° anniversario di matrimonio di cari amici di famiglia, nonchè migliori amici dei miei genitori,. con i quali avrebbero condiviso questo importante traguardo...

Quindi come  regalo ho preparato questo 'cake topper', corredato da una Tag/biglietto, che ho preparato basandomi sulla Tag di Febbraio di Tim Holtz...in quella occasione avevo usato una foto dei miei genitori....così mi sembra che tutto sia in qualche modo connesso...

This month is the 50th wedding anniversary of  very close friends, who were my parents best friends and with whom they would have shared this important date...

So I have made this 'cake topper' along with a congratulations Tag, inspired by Tim Holtz February Tag...back then I used my parents picture...it seems to me, in this way, that everything is somehow connected...
