It's MONDAY...!

Si lo so...di solito non si accoglie il lunedì con molto entusiasmo, MA...c'è la Sfida del LUNEDI nel Blog di Simon Says Stamp,,,ed incredibile...riesco a postare il lavoro proprio il giorno di uscita della sfida!!!
Il nuovo tema è 'MONOCHROME'...e mi ha subito incuriosito, così ho iniziato a sperimentare nel mio Art Journal, e questo è il risultato...

I know, I know, usually you don't cheer up on Mondays, BUT...it's MONDAY Challenge Time over Simon Says Stamp Blog...and it's incredible...but I have managed to post my take on the challenge right on time!!!
The new theme is 'MONOCHROME'...and I just got hooked, so I started to play in my Art Journal, and this is what I came up with...

Ho scelto il colore NERO, e questi sono i materiali che ho usato:

Ho steso del gesso sulla pagina ed ho timbrato con lo Stazon Jet Black su carta velina (tissue paper). Ho incollato la carta e poi ho aggiunto dei decori con lo stencil Harlequin ed il Distress ink Black Soot. Ho steso del Black Soot ed appoggiando lo stencil ho tolto il colore con una salvietta umidificata. Poi ho usato lo stencil con le bolle ed il colore della DecoArt Americana Lamp Black per i cerchi più scuri, mentre la spugnetta quasi scarica ed il Black Soot per le bolle più piccole.
Ho aggiunto un paio di bolle con la pasta modellabile bianca ed ho fatto il contorno con una penna gel nera. Con una penna gel bianca ho scritto nelle bolle più scure.
Con il pennarello Tombow nero ho ripassato la farfalla e con il pastello acquarellabile nero ho ombreggiato l'immagine. Ho poi ripassato i contorni con una PITT pen nera.
Ho embossato le lettere FLY usando la polvere Midnight Black di Stampendous, ed ho usato la stessa polvere qua e là sulla pagina.
Infine ho 'distressato' i bordi della pagina con il Black Soot ed aggiunto del washi tape.

I gessoed the page, than stamped on tissue paper the image using Jet Black Stazon. Glued that down and added stenciling using Harlequin stencil and Distress Ink mini pad Black Soot.
After that added some distress ink on the page and used the stencil and a baby wipe to lift the colour. Used a bubbles stencil and DecoArt Americana Lamp Black acrylic paint, for darker bubbles while for the others I used Black Soot again, but without reloading the ink on the applicator.
Added few touches of white modeling paste and then outlined using black gel pen. The words are written with white gel pen
With the Black Tombow Dual Brush Pen I added details on the butterfly, then with a watercolour pencil I added some shadow. I outlined the image using a black PITT artist pen.
I have embossed the word FLY  and sprinkled the page with Midnight Black embossing powder.
Final touch, I distressed the borders of the page with Black Soot Distress Ink pad, and added some washi tape.

E' tutto...usare un solo colore per un effetto monocromatico è stato molto divertente!

On wednesday...Anything goes!

Ciao, anche questa settimana ho preparato un progetto per la sfida del Mercoledì sul Blog di Simon Says Stamp!
Il tema della sfida è 'ANYTHING GOES' cioè va bene tutto...sono stati usati i prodotti di Technique Tuesday, e dal momento che ho un timbro per il journaling che adoro,  ho deciso di usare quello.
Avevo pensato ad una cosa ed ovviamente è uscito tutt'altro!!! Lol!

Hello, this week  I'm taking part in  the Wednesday Challenge over Simon Says Stamp Blog!
The theme is 'ANYTHING GOES' and they are showcasing Technique Tuesday products. Since I have a journaling stamp that I love, I went for this. I had a project in mind...and the result, obviously, is a completely different thing!!! Lol!

La prossima settimana sarà il mio (anzi nostro) Anniversario di Matrimonio, così ho deciso di fare un mini layout utilizzando una foto che ci è stata fatta da amici, all'uscita dalla chiesa. Noi due sotto una pioggia di riso e pasta (si avete letto bene...ci hanno lanciato delle penne!).
Ho fustellato una 'polaroid' con una fustella di 'Paper Smoochies' ed ho ritagliato la scritta con una thinlits Sizzix del set 'You+Me'.
Ho usato un foglio 6x6 della serie Reflections di Echo Park come base, ho incollato la foto con nastro biadesivo spessorato, ho aggiunto 2 tickets da 'Adage Tickets' Idea-ology di Tim Holtz, rosa e petali sono stati ritagliati con la Flower Layers and Leaves Die di Sizzix, ho timbrato su cartoncino spesso usando il timbro 'This Day' di Technique Tuesday con lo Staz-on Timber Brown e poi l'ho ritagliato usando dei punch.
Ho ritagliato una targhetta ed ho timbrato con l'inchiostro Black Hero Hues della Hero Arts, la scritta 'Remember' da un set di Heidi Swapp ed un alfabeto Artemio. Poi ho ritagliato la scritta 'Moment' con una fustella Metaliks di Kesi'art e l'ho embossata con la polvere Midnight Black di Stampendous. Ho distressato tutto con il Distress Ink pad Vintage Photo ,
Solo che non ero completamente soddisfatta, quindi mi è venuta l'idea di creare un'altra Shadow Box (la prima la potete vedere qui...).
Dopo aver fatto vari calcoli e preso un tot di misure, finalmente sono riuscita a fare una shadow box che si adatta perfettamente al layout preparato. Ho utilizzato del cartoncino nero piuttosto spesso, poi ho coperto il bordo con del cartoncino bianco su cui ho usato il timbro 'Dream Text' di Stampendous (quanto mi piace questo timbro!!!) timbrato sempre con il nero di Hero Arts. Poi ho distressato la pagina con i Distress Ink pad 'Antique Linen' e 'Vintage Photo', spruzzato dell'acqua e fatto asciugare. Poi ho ritagliato le varie strisce, le ho distressate con il Distress Ink pad 'Black Soot' e le ho incollate con del biadesivo. Ho aggiunto un'altro ticket, una rosa e delle foglioline ritagliate in una pagina di libro.
Adesso sono soddisfatta del mio lavoro...e lo è anche la mia Dolce Metà!!!

Next week will be my (better ours) Wedding Anniversary, so I decided to do a mini layout using an old photo that some friends took when we were outside the church. The two of us under a storm of rice and pasta (yes you got it right...they tossed pasta also, 'penne' by the way which have pointy ends!)
I die cut a polaroid frame using a Paper Smoochies die set, and the writings using Sizzix thinlits set 'You+Me', I used a 6x6 designer paper from the 'Reflections' pad by Echo Park as a base, then I added the photo with foam tape, stapled two tickets from the 'Adage Tickets' Ideo-logy by Tim Holtz. The rose and the leaves have been die cut with the Sizzix Flower Layers and Leaves die. 
I Stamped onto thick cardstock using Brown Timber Staz-on ink pad and the 'This Day' stamp by Technique Tuesday and punched it out.
Punched a tiny tag, stamped a sentiment using Black Hero Hues ink pad by Hero Arts and Heidi Swapp stamp sets and Artemio alphas. Die cut the word 'Moment' on cardstock using a Metaliks die by Kesi'art, embossed it with Midnight Black powder by Stampendous and distressed everything using 'Vintage Photo' Distress Ink pad.
But I wasn't completely satisfied, so I came up with the idea of another Shadow Box (you can see the first one here...)
After taking all the measurements needed, I've finally made the ' perfect fit' shadow box for my layout. I've used black thick cardstock, then I have covered the front with a custom 'paper'. I have stamped on white cardstock using the Black  Hero Hues ink pad by Hero Arts and the 'Dream Text' cling stamp by Stampendous (how I love this stamp!), Then I distressed the page using Antique Linen and Vintage Photo Distress Ink pads, mist it with water and let it dry.
Afterwards I have cut 4 strips, distressed them with Black Soot Distress Ink pad, and taped them down. Added a rose, leaves and another ticket.
Now I am VERY satisfied with the result...and the same is my Sweet Hubby!!!

Make a Wish...MAKE IT BIG!

Ciao, eccoci di nuovo alla sfida settimanale del Lunedì, sul Blog di Simon Says Stamp!
Il nuovo tema è 'Make a Wish'...esprimi un desiderio...quindi ho deciso di sviluppare una Tag, che può essere adatta anche per un uomo, non solo come biglietto di auguri ma anche come 'pensiero motivazionale'...WISH BIG...cioè desidera di più, pensa in grande. Naturalmente ho aggiunto un tocco Steampunk...ovvio no?

Hi everyone, here we are once again with the Monday weekly challenge, over Simon Says Stamp Blog!
The new theme is 'Make a Wish', so I decided for a Tag, which can be used also for a man, not only as a birthday card but also as 'motivational and wishful thinking'...WISH BIG. Of course I added few Steampunk touches...well...predictable, right?

Ho dato una mano di gesso alla tag, poi ho posizionato uno stencil e con i Distress Inks: Mustard Seed, Spiced Marmalade, Vintage Photo, Walnut Stain e Black Soot ho cercato di sfumare i vari colori, partendo dal centro verso l'esterno.
Poi ho embossato l'immagine usando la polvere Midnight Black di Stampendous e mentre i Distress Inks non erano ancora asciutti, ho lasciato cadere qua e là un pò di polvere nera e della povere oro ed ho asciugato con l'embosser. Mi piace molto questo effetto!
Dopodichè non restava che aggiungere degli abbellimenti: ho usato un ticket della serie 'Adage Tickets' Tim Holtz idea-ology, le lettere sono ritagliate con la fustella 'Words Play' sempre di Tim Holtz da cartone pressato. Le ho distressate con Black Soot e dipinte con una vernice dorata. La stessa vernice l'ho usata per la candelina che forma la lettera ' I '. Qualche ingranaggio, una rondella, una chiavetta, del washi tape e del nastro completano il tutto. Ecco i particolari...

I gessoed the Tag, then with a stencil I used the Distress Inks: Mustard Seed, Spiced Marmalade, Vintage Photo, Walnut Stain and Black Soot, blending the colours, starting from the center toward the outside.
I embossed the image using Midnight Black embossing powder by Stampendous and while the Inks were still wet I sprinkled here and there black powder and a gold one and then dried with a heat tool. I really love how it turned out!
Afterwards I only had to embellish it a little: I've used an Idea-ology 'Adage Ticket' by Tim Holtz, die cut the alphas from 'Words Play' die by Tim Holtz, using cardboard. I've distressed them with Black Soot and then painted with a gold acrylic paint. I've also painted the little candle that  I've used instead of the letter ' I '. Few gears, a washer, a tiny key, washi tape and some ribbon added the final touches. Here's few details...

FELT THIS AND THAT...

Ciao a tutti, come di consueto eccoci al momento  della sfida sul Blog di Simon Says Stamp, ma questa settimana c'è una novità...infatti il tema è il Feltro sia per la sfida del LUNEDI che per la sfida del MERCOLEDI, quindi il progetto sarà postato in entrambe le sezioni!

Hi everyone, as usual here we are with the weekly challenge over Simon Says Stamp Blog, but this week there is something different about it...in fact both for the MONDAY challenge and the WEDNESDAY challenge the theme is FELT (Felt That and Fun with Felt), so I will post this project on both pages!

Come potete capire dal nome del mio Blog, ADORO i Gingerbread...non solo a Natale!

Quindi ho pensato subito al mio omino di zenzero preferito quando ho visto il tema della sfida...tra un pò sarà il mio anniversario di matrimonio, e cosa c'è di più dolce di questo biscottino?

Il cuore centrale l'ho tagliato con la fustella 'Hearts, Primitive' di Sizzix da un foglio di sughero.

Il cuoricino di feltro beige, tagliato con il set  'Mini Love Struck'  di Tim Holtz , nasconde una puntina incollata sul retro.

Ho quindi tagliato con la fustella Bigz L la sagoma del Gingerbread Man sia nel feltro che nel cartoncino, per dargli più stabilità.

Ho iniziato poi gli abbellimenti, incollando con la colla a caldo 2 bottoncini per gli occhi, il cuore di sughero e della passamaneria. Ho colorato le guance con la tecnica del drybrushing ed il colore acrilico.  Ho usato del baker's twine ed ho attaccato una mini tag con una mollettina minuscola che ho dipinto di rosso.   Infine ho aggiunto la pin a cuore.

Perfetto come chiudipacco  e piccolo porta note!

As you noticed by the name of my  Blog, I LOVE Gingerbreads...not only at Christmas!

When I saw the challenges theme I immediately thought about my favorite 'ginger' man...soon will be my wedding anniversary, so what's sweeter than this little cookie?

I die-cut the main heart with the Sizzix 'Hearts, Primitive' die from a piece of cork.

The little beige heart is cut with the 'Mini Love Struck set' by Tim Holtz, and hides a pin glued on the back. I then die cut the Gingerbread Man with the Sizzix Bigz L die, from felt and cardstock, for more sturdiness.

After that I began to glue with a hot glue gun all the embellishments: 2 buttons for the eyes, the cork heart and trimmings. Then I drybrushed the cheeks with acrylic paint.

I have used some baker's twine and hung a mini tag with a very tiny clothespin painted in red.

Last but not least I added the heart pin.

Perfect as a gift tag and little note holder!

Let's EMBOSS IT!

Ciao, anche se un pò in ritardo, ecco il mio progetto per la sfida settimanale del Lunedì, sul blog di Simon Says Stamp.

Come avrete capito dal titolo, il tema è la tecnica dell'embossing, in tutte le sue forme...a caldo, con folders, con paste, ed io ho cercato di usarle tutte in questa pagina del mio Art Journal (si lo so, ultimamente mi sono data alla pazza gioia con il mio journal...ma mi sto divertendo troppo!!!)

Premetto che l'embossing a caldo non è proprio il mio forte...comunque è stato divertente abbinare tutte queste tecniche...e questa è la cosa importante!

Hi, I'm bit late, but here is my project for the Monday challenge, over Simon Says Stamp blog.

As you may noticed by the title of this post, the new theme is about Embossing technique, in every possible way...heat embossing, with folders, with paste, and I have tried to use them all in this page of my Art Journal (yes I know, I'm totally into my journal, lately...but I'm having so much fun with it!!!)

I have to admit that I don't have the best results with heat embossing...but has been fun put all these techniques together in one project...and having fun is the most important thing!

E qui qualche dettaglio....These are few details

Ho preparato la superficie con gesso, poi con una texture paste ho usato degli stencil. Infine ho timbrato l'orologio e ho embossato con polvere per embossing bianca.

Poi ho iniziato a giocare con spray e colori vari. La cosa più divertente è che non importa cosa aggiungi, basta passare una salviettina sull'immagine embossata ed eccola bella nitida che contrasta perfettamente con lo sfondo!

La pasta che ho usato è più solida rispetto alla modeling paste, non ha una finitura così liscia. Anche passandoci sopra una salviettina, il colore non si toglie completamente.

Per la tag con gli orologi, ovviamente ho usato un embossing folder della Sizzix, uno dei miei preferiti. Per la tag con la cabina telefonica invece ho usato la polvere per embossing nera...Morivo dalla voglia di usare questo timbro in un progetto e si, quella è una monetina inglese!

Devo dire che nel complesso il risultato mi piace molto.

I painted the page with gesso, then added a textured paste with stencils, Finally I stamped the clock image and heat embossed with white embossing powder.

I started to play with sprays and colours. The awesome thing is that it doesn't matter what you add, all you have to do is use a baby wipe on the embossed image and here it is, contrasting with the background!

The paste I have used is thicker than usual modeling paste, it doesn't have a smooth finish, Even if you use a baby wipe, part of the colour remains.

For the tag with clock faces on it I used a Sizzix embossing folder, one of my favorites. For the tag with the phone booth I used black embossing powder...I wanted so much to use this stamp in a project and yes, that's an engligh penny!

I must say that I really like the final result.

Impossible to RESIST....

Per questa sfida il grande Tim ha proposto una tecnica remix davvero interessante, che include quella del 'Tissue Tape Resist'. Non l'avevo mai provata e mi sono innamorata...Fantastica!

Finnabair quote challenge...

Ciao! Ho pensato molto a quali parole mi rappresentassero di più in questo periodo della mia vita,  ed ho trovato la frase perfetta..."Per vivere una vita creativa, dobbiamo perdere la nostra paura di sbagliare" di Joseph Chilton Pearce.

Quando creiamo, qualsiasi cosa sia, chi può stabilire cosa è giusto o sbagliato? Quando scegliamo di accostare determinati colori, oppure usare determinati materiali, quando infine mettiamo un pezzo della nostra essenza in un progetto, a chi dobbiamo rendere conto? La risposta è...solo a noi stessi! Non esiste un modo giusto per esprimere la nostra creatività. L'importante è osare e creare!

La paura di non essere all'altezza o di non fare le cose nel modo giusto mi ha bloccato per anni. Per anni vedevo cose e tecniche che mi sarebbe piaciuto sperimentare, ma mi limitavo a 'pinnarle' su di una bacheca.

Adesso vedo, elaboro, provo...creo.

E se sbaglio...ricomincio!

I have thought a lot about which words represent me better at this stage of my life, and I have found the perfect quote " To live a creative life, we must lose our fear of being wrong" by Joseph Chilton Pearce.

When we create, no matter what, who can tell us what's right or wrong?

When we use certain colours or materials, when we finally put a piece of our essence in a project, to whom we must answer? Only to ourselves!

Doesn't exist the right way to express our creativity. The important thing is to dare...to create!

For years I have been stuck by the fear of doing it in the wrong way, of not being good enough. I saw the things and techniques I would love to explore,  but I just 'pinned' them on a board!

Now I see...I develop...I try...I create!

And if I make a mistake...I start all over!

So here we are with the today's challenge...on FINNABAIR blog, The amazingly talented Finn and her awesome creative team came up with projects related to a quote that inspires them.

Io mi sono divertita con il mio Art Journal, ho creato texture con pagine di libro, filo, gesso, modeling paste e stencils, poi ho iniziato a spruzzare i vari colori ed ho unito i vari pezzi.

I enjoyed playing with my Art Journal, creating texture with book pages, yarn, gesso, stencils and modeling paste, then I begin spritzing colours and glue down all the pieces.

Stenciled it...and I loved it!

Ciao a tutti, eccomi con una nuova sfida settimanale, questa volta del Mercoledì, sul blog di Simon Says Stamp...
Il tema è 'STENCIL IT' e quindi mi sono divertita con quello che ho per una pagina del mio Art Journal!

Hi everyone, here I am with a new weekly challenge, this time it's Wednesday, over Simon Says Stamp Blog...
The theme is 'STENCIL IT' so I had my share of fun with my stash for a page in my Art Journal...

Ho cercato di stare sul minimal, usando varie tecniche con gli stencil...

I was looking for a  'minimal' style, while using different techniques with stencils...

Ho dato una mano di gesso alla pagina, poi ho asciugato ed ho ripiegato un pò la pagina, per l'effetto 'rovinato' ed ho creato delle crepe nel gesso.
Ho passato i Distress Ink mini pads direttamente sul foglio, ho spruzzato acqua ed ho fatto colare il colore. Ho asciugato ed ho appoggiato uno stencil e con una salviettina imbevuta ho picchiettato sopra, togliendo del colore sottostante.
Sempre con lo stesso stencil ho aggiunto della pasta modellante.
Poi ho usato un'altro stencil con i Distress Inks. Ho invecchiato i bordi, ho aggiunto delle timbrate 'finto craquelé' e con il Vintage Photo ho ripassato le crepe che si erano formate prima...Mi piace molto questo effetto!!!
Poi ho timbrato la piuma con lo Staz-on Brown Timber due volte, una sul Journal ed una su un foglio per acquerello. Quest'ultima l'ho colorata con i Tombow Dual Brush pens, l'ho ritagliata e l'ho attaccata con biadesivo spessorato.
Infine ho timbrato la scritta 'FLY' con l'alfabeto 'Clearly Alpha' Dylusions. E questo è quanto!

I gessoed the page, dried it and bent it for a worn look, cracking the gesso.
I used the Distress Inks mini pads directly on the journal, then misted it with water and let the colours run. Dried, placed  a stencil on the page and removed part of the ink underneath with a baby wipe.
With the same stencil I applied modeling paste. Then moved to another stencil and used Distress Inks. Distressed the borders, added a 'crackle' stamp here and there and enhanced the cracks in the gesso with Vintage Photo distress ink...I really love this effect!!!
I stamped the feather twice with Staz-on Timber Brown, one on the page and one on  watercolour paper.  I painted the latter with Tombow dual brush pens, cut it out and stuck it down with foam tape.
Eventually I stamped the word 'FLY' using  Dylusions 'Clearly Alpha', And that's that!

Hi everyone, here I am for the usual weekly Monday challenge over Simon Says Stamp Blog!
The new theme is HOME DECOR, so I thought to unite in one piece the challenge and the forthcoming Mother's Day...

Ho usato una carta della PRIMA 'School Memories' 6x6 in. e due fustelle sempre della PRIMA -
Elisse Tags e Classique swirl, un quadrato di MDF, un timbro con scritte, Distress Inks, dei fiori di carta fatti usando la fustella Sizzix 'Flowers layers and leaves' un'uccellino ritagliato da un cartoncino, delle lettere dall'alfabeto 'Words Play' di Tim Holtz, un cuoricino di legno e del nastro.

I used PRIMA 'School Memories' 6x6 pad, 2 PRIMA dies - Elisse Tags and Classique swirl, a MDF square shape, a stamp with writings on it, Distress Inks, paper flowers made with Sizzix die 'Flowers layers and leaves', a cut out bird from my stash, alphas from 'Words Play' die by Tim Holtz, a wooden heart and some ribbon.

Ho dipinto con gesso bianco la base, asciugato, stampato con inchiostro marrone e distressato i bordi con Vintage Photo e poi con Walnut Stain.
Sulla carta ho lasciato cadere delle gocce di inchiostro seppia e con lo stesso inchiostro ho scritto la parola 'LOVE'.

I painted the surface with white gesso, let dry, stamped with brown ink and distressed the borders with Vintage Photo and then with Walnut Stain.
I spattered the paper with sepia ink  drops, and wrote the word 'LOVE'.

Ho aggiunto del filo metallico ed ho appeso in quadretto sopra alla mia postazione...
I added wire and hung the piece above my desk...
